IMPACT Laboratory

In 2004, the IMPACT Laboratory was opened at 88 Jackson Road, Devens, MA. The laboratory, with up to 2500 sq. ft of space available, is used to conduct process research, scale-up & development, and equipment application experiments for clients.

The facility complements our hands-on process development consulting services and allows us to better serve our clients by effectively expanding their laboratory space on an as-needed basis and providing access to specialized equipment and expertise.

The facility is equipped for small to mid-scale development activities that target chemical and pharmaceutical technology development, scale-up, troubleshooting, and optimization; including reaction kinetics, mixing, separations, fluid dynamics, heat transfer, materials testing, and automation. The laboratory also has access to quick and efficient onsite analytical capabilities.

The laboratory is also suited for small scale manufacturing of products or devices during early commercial product launches.  The lab is equipped with a Class 100,000 GMP clean room if needed for clean manufacturing of medical devices or single-use components in the biotech industry.

Typical examples of development work performed at the IMPACT laboratory and associated equipment include:

  • Separations Application and Development
    • Powerfuge, Viafuge, TFF, Chromatography
  • Fine Particle Science
    • Liquid Phase (Emulsification/Precipitation/Size Reduction)
